Taiyuan Shele Bridge Taiyuan | China

Project Description
Single-Tower Spatial Cable-Stayed Bridge Project
This project adopts a single-tower spatial cable-stayed bridge structure with a single cable plane, featuring an innovative and visually striking structural system.
Structural Configuration
The bridge has a total length of 360 meters, with a span arrangement of 30 + 150 + 150 + 30 meters. The inverted stay cable layout forms a spatial curved surface, enhancing both structural efficiency and architectural expression.
The structural system utilizes a two-span continuous semi-floating system. A longitudinal damping and limiting device is installed between the tower and the main girder to control longitudinal displacement, while transverse seismic bearings with spherical steel bearings are provided to improve seismic performance and overall structural safety.
Superstructure Details
The bridge deck has a total width of 51.5 meters. The main girder adopts a semi-enclosed double-box composite steel structure with a total girder depth of 3.0 meters. The superstructure consists of a 0.28-meter-thick concrete slab and a 2.72-meter-high steel box girder, connected by shear stud connectors to ensure composite action and structural integrity.
Engineering Significance
This project demonstrates advanced application of spatial cable-stayed systems, composite steel–concrete girder technology, and modern seismic control measures, making it a representative example of long-span urban bridge engineering.
