Heping Road Viaduct Steel Box Girder Project - Shijiazhuang City
The Heping Road Viaduct Project in Shijiazhuang City is a key urban overpass crossing the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway Line. The bridge adopts a two-span continuous steel box girder structure with a total length of 128.452 meters, designed to meet strict safety and operational requirements for railway crossings.
The superstructure is a single-box multi-cell steel box girder with a top width of 25.5 meters, providing high torsional rigidity and overall structural stability. The steel box girder design is well suited to accommodate wide bridge decks, complex alignments, and varying cross-slope conditions commonly found in urban viaducts.
The horizontal alignment consists of an 800-meter-radius circular curve combined with a transition curve and a straight section. The bridge deck cross slope transitions smoothly from a 3% unidirectional slope to a 1.5% bidirectional slope, placing high demands on fabrication precision and geometric control during manufacturing.
To minimize disruption to railway traffic, the bridge was assembled parallel to the railway alignment and then rotated into its final position as a whole. The entire bridge rotation was completed within one hour, demonstrating efficient construction coordination and reliable structural performance. This project highlights strong capabilities in large-width steel box girder fabrication and support for complex urban bridge construction methods.
